Instructions
The instructions for making this book are in a wonderful book called, "Ecobooks". I got it out of the library. This particular book of mine uses a different bookbinding stitch than is called for in the instructions. I used a butterfly stitch and took advantage of the holes that are already in the floppy disks.Category: Other

What was your inspiration?
My daughter was fortunate to have a high school arts class called "Sustainable Fashion Design", where they designed their own clothing using recycled clothing from thrift stores.
Then my son brought home a book from the library called, Ecobooks. They had a book made from floppy disks, similar to this one. I was excited to try and create a book from all recycled materials.
What are you most proud of?
I created my own way of making this book, based on the photos but changing it to accommodate my own style of creating books. I was also pleased to be able to use text speak for the quotes in the book. I think it gives the poems a much more artistic quality. It also fits the whole computer theme.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't be afraid to look at a project and try and figure out your own way of doing it. Sometimes you find a way that's better and easier than the original. It also makes it your own.
