Definitely sewing slow helps. I found that my serger does not like unyielding thicknesses and it groaned a lot.

The class project - and the other laminated bag.

I finished this in one afternoon/evening. It's not perfect, but it's done!

lol... I didn't make the other bag - and probably won't ever make another bag like this as my serger just hates how thick this is - and I had to trim off the corners before sewing or no serging was happening

Ha! I totally thought the other one was yours too! It's too bad your serger doesn't appreciate the fabric- it's really nice!
