Hi Ann-Hartley, Thanks for the compliment! I used an invisible zipper. The pattern calls for a zipper in the left side seam, which opens at the bottom - kind of unusual but it gives a nice fit. I substituted an invisible zipper since I don't like the results from my sewing machine's regular zipper foot. The hardest thing about invisible zippers is the crazy geometry -I have to pin EVERYTHING and flip it right side out to make sure I haven't put something in backwards or upside down. But apart from that, invisible zippers are pretty easy to install and they look quite elegant.

The pattern was Simplicity 4427, which seems to be out of print.
