What was your inspiration?

I'd had the yarn , which had come in a kit with a yard of matching wool fabric, in my stash for quite awhile, waiting for inspiration. I wanted to make something classic, and when I found this pattern I knew it was "just right"!

What are you most proud of?

The pattern called for fingering yarn, and mine was actually sports weight, so I had to go with measurements, and the gauge of the swatch, rather than by row and stitch count on the pattern. I also wanted buttons and had to figure out (with some help ) how to add the button hole.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Always make a swatch! And read the instructions CAREFULLY! They're well written, but Susan is British, and this pattern was a reminder that although we may use the same words, we often use them differently!
