Vinyl tape measure and decorative ribbon
What was your inspiration?
I think I saw something similar somewhere (in the background of a tutorial about something else?). I have all sorts of cool decorative ribbons, and this seemed like a fun way to use them and make a utilitarian tool pretty.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The vinyl tape measures are a little slippery, but it's still pretty easy. Also, I would match your top thread to the outside edge of the ribbon, and your bobbin thread to the color of the tape measure. I used Fray Block on the cut edges of the ribbon.
