What was your inspiration?

grand daughter Erin loves pink, so i made her a ruffle scarf in her fave color, then made her hat of hot pink bulky yarn paired up with pink cashmere yarn from a sweater Erin helped me unravel. used 2 yards to make a carnation like flower for the hat

What are you most proud of?

i love that i have all that cashmere yarn for only $2.50 from a thrift shop, so soft and lots of fun unravelling with help from Erin & Ava

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

tutorial on ruffle scarf makes it pretty easy, love the downsized hat pattern, cant wait to give these to her!!

I would love to try unraveling a sweater for the yarn, but I don't know how to begin. Do you know where I could find instructions or a tutorial? Love this project - so pretty!

if you use an search engine , type in how to unravel a sweater for yarn or how to recycle yarn from an old sweater and that should bring up any number of blogs or posts, i just used one of them and pinned it to one of my boards on pinterest, believe it or not, it worked and i recycled almost the entire cashmere sweater- it was great! you can do it with wool, wool, silk blends, i recycled an old skirt that was wool, silk and angora- go for it!!!

they have turned out really nice, pretty for them, warm so they dont freeze their little ears! happy i found a quick pattern too, since i still have loads of things to make :)

it did turn out soft- i like this particular pattern because of the wide turn up over their ears, 3 out of 4 of them have to wait for a school bus, brrrrr!!
