wool and cotton

What was your inspiration?

I bought a ham but as you can see in the picture it is quite small and I really wanted a bigger one but I could not buy one so I made it.

What are you most proud of?

getting the ham well packed.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Ease stitch the smaller upper section of the wool and the cotton separately at the stitching line I like to use the crowding technique where you place your finger behind the sewing machine foot, this prevents the fabric from feeding -Gretchen Hirsch shows you how in "Sew Retro: Starlet Suit Jacket" another of craftsys great classes.
make sure to stitch around the ham twice for extra strength

Great Idea, its hard to find them here too and if they are very expensive. Have to find some wool fabric and make one too.

now I have the shoulder curve I need to press the sleeve cap seam allowances better, a lady once told me that a ham is suppose to have all the curves you need for pressing garments but the little one that I purchase from spotlight is almost square at the top and too small my collar goes around and overlaps, I could not find a better one here in Australia
