Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

Fabric, Batting, Thread

What was your inspiration?

Working on samples for my book.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

As with all quilting projects, especially those you quilt yourself, you must not give up. My favorite time of day is "PLAY TIME." That is what this project was about, I went to my studio( commonly know as a bedroom) with nothing in mind but just to have fun. Whatever happens shall happen. This is the result of my playing for the last few days. With my next play time, I will complete this project by shading with my colored pencils.

Now this is art! Someone said human beings see faces in everything, I am typical. I see evolution of man, beautiful faces in the hair, bones, you are so very gifted. I will come back and view it again. I just love everything...cannot wait to find out what I will see next time! The name of the piece is quite inspirational in itself! Just plain wonderful.

I had to come back and look again.. For me this piece has so much to look at. The execution of the frame and border, along wth everything else. What size is it? Makes me want to stay home from work and sew !!!

Thank you sew buttons. You too can do this. You now have all the tools. Just jump out there and don't be afraid to fail. No one knows what you are trying to do anyway therefore dont tell them. That's the freedom of it all.

The entire piece at this point is all thread. I will post the finished quilt in a couple of days. It has now been colored with colored pencils.

Wow, this is stunning and contemary artwork. Your work reminds me of the very famous textile artist, Paddy Killer. She has made her fortune doing increadable works. She has several styles of work. I have met her at exhibitions a few times!

I looked up Paddy Killer. How humble you have made me by putting me in the same sentence with her.
