What materials did you use? Spoonflower quilt project.

I learned a lot in this class. I am a beginner free motion quilter this winter. This was a great class for that. I even made feathers around a border on my daughters quilt after finishing this class. I did mark the feathers to get them consistent howeve. I enjoyed the process..

Love the colors and the sashes between the blocks. Great job.

Hi! Beautiful job on your free motion quilting. I, too, bought the Spoonflower panel. I haven't started it--just got it a few days ago. I want to FMQ the entire quilt rather than block by block. May I ask you a few questions? I see that you cut off 5 blocks from the end and repositioned them so the quilt is 4 blocks by 5 blocks. 1) How did you sew them together and still be able to maintain the same size skinny white line? 2) When you quilted it, did you try to stay off the white lines, or did it matter? 3) What color thread did you use? (I can't tell). 3) What color backing did you use? Thank you so much for your help! Pauline

Yes, I cut the material and repositioned it to the size I wanted using the white from the outside to make the divider between the blocks. I used solid grey for backing and Sulky green thread #1047. It light green and shiny. It was enough contrast to be visible. Have fun quilting. Margaret
