The little bird is awesome! Is the thread standing up on the bird?

No, in fact it's very flat. The colors create the illusion of depth.

Do you think a dvd class is as good as a personal one?

Few personal classes give the same depth. Online or DVD is better and you can go back over it as often as you wish.

I see that this is your practice bird. Well, you have learned a lot with this piece. When you practice a piece first, you find that you develop your own stitch style that works very well for you. I have stitched this little bird about 6 different times in different ways. Each time, I discover something new that I can do to make it "better". Nice work.

Hi Terry! This is so sweet! I have a question for you, I'm Leah's class & saw that you have a brother PQ1500S - do you like this machine? Does it do great fmq like everyone seems to think on the reviews? Do you mind not having other stitches? I wasn't sure how to email you or ask you within the class so I figured I'd have better luck here... Thnx for any help/advice!

Hi Meredith, Well, obviously, I wasn't monitoring this forum to answer...sorry about that! I don't have a Brother, but I have seen people do great work on it. If it were my only machine, I would sorely miss the stitches because I also do a lot of embellishment work using programmed stitches....but that's just me.
