What was your inspiration?
I'd been wanting to learn how to hand quilt, and when I saw a quilted pillow project in a book (I forget which one, sorry!), I realized that that would be the perfect place to start. I enlarged the quilting pattern from a design in the book "1000 Great Quilting Designs for Hand or Machine Stitching" by Luise Roberts.
What are you most proud of?
A) My stitches are not the smallest (that comes with a lot more practice), but they are pretty even.
B) I finished it! (I'm very bad about starting lots of things that don't get finished. Ooops!)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you're new to hand quilting, just be patient with yourself. Focus on making even stitches, even if they have to be 1/4" long! Don't rush, and practice on small projects that you can finish fairly quickly. (Potholders would be a good project too!)
