Oval embroidery hoop, muslin, embroidery floss, beads and felt backing.
What was your inspiration?
I wanted to try to create portraits of people in a medium other than paint, so decided to try embroidery floss and beads.
What are you most proud of?
Using materials that I had on hand. I think I captured the overall image, but the face was very difficult to get right, you can't just erase the features, you have to carefully pull out the threads. I hope to create better likenesses as I make more portraits.
