Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Used a photo reference of head cast. Used Strathmore Toned Gray 400 Series 11 x 14. Mostly Graphite HB and 2B with a little 2H and 6B for shading. Also used Charcoal While and Black. I'm and working on building up my portrait drawing skills.

What are you most proud of? Finishing what I started with this one and pushing myself to improve my skills and finishing this. With a busy work schedule it was tempted to stop when I ran into the issues with the drawing. I kept at a little each day, correcting errors as I saw them along the way. Small beginnings. I'm looking forward to greater progress down the road.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Stay positive. Stay focused. Observe your style and technique as you work your art. Consciously and actively apply lessons and knowledge to your projects and finish what you start.

Nice work. I would recommend keeping the shadows on the face consistent with the shadows under the jaw. Make them a similar value and it will be an even better drawing.
