Puppy (Swe: Vallmo)

Instructions

It was made after a DVD workshop "Designing Landscapes Quilts" with Judith Trager, wich I bought at Interweave.com.
The motif i my own choice.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Materials

Cotton fabrics for the pieced background. Chiffong and Organza fabrics for the applications. Acrylic textilepaint for screenprints and other details. Polyester threads in many shades, monofilamentthread, tracingpaper, pen, scissors, a small fine brush, form for the printing (squares) and a screen to print the the stems.

What was your inspiration?

The quilter Judith Trager. She has a fast piecing method that I like.

What are you most proud of?

The threadpainting on the flowers.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make the pieced background first. Then screenprint the stems and leaves. I made my own stencil for the screen out of newspaper. Add paint with a fine brush in the seams. Use many shades of threads for the threadpainting on the flowers.
