Type of item: Clothing

Style: Retro / Vintage, Casual, Outdoorsy, Whimsical, Hipster, Funky, Cute

Materials

Red Heart Yarn- "Watercolor". Caron Yarn "Lemon Yellow" for the flower, and Red Heart Yarn "Frosty Green" for the trim on the hat, and the inside of the flower.

What was your inspiration?

I had made two of them last year for my daughters, and they love wearing it to church. I thought my niece would like it too. It's not a complicated poncho, and can easily be used as a caplet too.

What are you most proud of?

I love the hat! It took me a while to perfect it, but I am pleased with the results. <3

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid to try different yarns. At first I thought this color wasn't going to work...but look at how beautifully the colors came out.

I liked both but in particular, the Granny square hat. However, when I went to d.l the pattern it was not there. i was dissappointed as I love the Granny Square.

I didn't follow a pattern for the granny square hat, since I am so familiar with it. I just made 5 granny squares (5-6 rounds depending on size of head), and put them together. As you sew the squares together, they should form a "cross" With one square in the middles, and one on each side of that square. After I sewed those together, I just added a rim, using single crochet, a total of 4 rounds. I hope that makes sense. <3
