Instructions

The project is for sewing the dress not the finished dress. All the instructions for the project are included in the sewing tutorial when you purchase the PDF pattern.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Girls

Style: Retro / Vintage, Cute

Materials

Main fabric print and contrasting fabric print. Contrasting ric-rac braid --- 1cm / 3/8" wide. Small fabric pieces for the apple applique plus adhesive applique backing paper. I button X 10mm/3/8" and a small piece of narrow elastic or braid for the loop, Matching threads for the applique and ric-rac braid as well as for the main dress fabric.

What was your inspiration?

I loved the apple print fabric, it's so crisp and colorful. I wanted to create a fairly simple dress for very little girls and babies. My patterns and designs are all about inspiring people to be creative and style their own garments by choosing fabrics and trims that work together --- it's great when you can say "I made it" and be proud of your creations.

What are you most proud of?

This is my newest pattern and I think I did a really nice job on the sewing tutorial.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are a real beginner just take your time, follow the tutorial --- it sets everything out in the correct sequence and if you need to make a few practice runs just try out on some scrap fabric --- you might need to practice making and sewing the bindings. Once you have made this little dress you will have a number of good basic skills up your sleeve.
