Wool fingering weight yarn that I overdyed.

What was your inspiration?

These shawls intrigued me. The Faroese shawl is a traditional shawl from the Faroe Islands. The shawls always have the center back panel and shaping across the shoulders that help keep the shawl in place on the wearer's shoulders.

What are you most proud of?

I overdyed some yarn that was in very light colors with food coloring like you would have in your kitchen for making frosting. I love the dark plum colors that I got.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

There is lots of garter stitch which I find relaxing but don't get so relaxed that you forget to do the lace in the center panel! Ask me how I know...
