What was your inspiration?

I have been playing with Joen's blocks and EQ. I have had a lot of fun, especially since I have been really unwell for quite a few days. Feeling a bit brighter to-day I reviewed some of my last couple of days of viewing and boy they seemed very different and not so daunting.

What are you most proud of?

Now when I open or create a block in EQ I am not panicking about what colour to use. I am now looking at what value I want - colour has definitely become secondary for me. I expect when or if I were to make a quilt then my colour choices would be important but I can see that value is really, really important. One of the photos (basically red/black) is one of Joen's blocks with one extra line added - what fun that created!!! Another picture is two of Joen's blocks put together

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you have EQ use it ;-)

Your value choices are superb. Great job! I really like the way you added luster to the one quilt. It's very enticing. Also, the blended block design is really interesting. I really like the black (or darkest hue) in the design. You've placed it so interesingly. I'd love to see you play with this design further by making value changes. For instance, making the whitened star surrounded by violet a bit darker. Or playing with it in a completely different fashion by making your background really dark and figuring out what to do with the rest of the design. Great job! Keep playing. Hope you feel better. Joen

Amazing! I've just started playing with EQ and have been considering the color class. I really like what you did here.

Thank you. I found the colour class jut great. I did all the painting exercises and found them very beneficial to my understanding of how colours are created. EQ is excellent for the "colouring in" exercises
