What materials did you use? Batik fabric, cotton fabric, Aurifil cotton thread, fuaible fleece for batting.

What are you most proud of? Letting the project lead me where it wanted to go. The color combination is rather unusual but it works. Combining batik and cotton fabrics is usually a no-no. It works. Quilting the whole thing with feathers works. I just kept playing "what if?"And it worked!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Play. Don't be afraid to experiment. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. that is how you learn. If you absolutely hate the result, throw it away! Donate it to charity. Or keep it, treasure it, and enjoy saying "this is where I started". Most of all, enjoy the result, even if the process is often frustrating.

I love Peggy Martin's Quick Strip Paper Piecing class and am about to start machine quilting my 2nd Pinwheel Polka quilt. After viewing all class projects, I am most inspired by your free motion feathers .... just lovely! I will try ....
