Instructions

I have taken a long time to finish this idea because of the way the clay reacts- sometimes its a good idea to remember not all clay is equal and not all glaze is equal. Sometimes when you make the holes and you fire it, they break. Sometimes if you have it all most completely done, they break. And sometimes when you are putting them together, they break.
Once completed though it is very ...

Porcelain clay, maco glaze, speedball glaze, basic wire, beads, imagination, time, evenheat copper Jr Kiln, LOTS of kiln wash, LOTS of Time

What was your inspiration?

I read a lot of books on crafts and watch a lot of videos on the internet on making things. Sometimes the books have nothing to do with what I am currently working on. Sometimes when I am trying to work on my computer the sun shines through the blinds and the screen is no longer visible. And sometimes there are not any flowers in the world to see unless they are on paintings or fake in vases or on material. I can remember a time when I could not see the world outside and I longed to see the green grass, blue sky and just a simple plant or two.

What are you most proud of?

I have not given up on my ideas or my desires or my goals though many times I have had to wait to attempt things and many times I meet up with blockades,(mostly money and kids), and yet I continue to strive to be who and what I am. The flower is in the kiln.. was going to use beads and wire but found this silver ribbon while I was cleaning out a space for the pottery wheel.. decided to try it. It seemed to work.
I will attempt to update this if the flower survives the firing process and glaze. If not then just use your imagination and put a flower there where the knot is. :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Do what you love and love what you do. Time is something we all have some in more amounts than others yet if you take the time to continue your dreams while maintaining your goals and home, someday you might find others actually did and do care but do not hold your breath!
As always, take your time use safety precautions with all elements and have fun.
