Playground- Handspun yarn

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Spinning

Type of item: Functional

For: Other

Style: Outdoorsy, Whimsical, Funky, Traditional, Classic, Cute, Preppy, Retro / Vintage, Casual

Materials

100% Supersoft Merino Wool

What was your inspiration?

Colors that make me think of children playing.

What are you most proud of?

That I got the exact look I was going for, and that I'm getting the hang of using my new spinning wheel. It makes things go so much faster than spindling.

It's 462 yds, fingering weight
Colors: turquoise, vermillion, chartruse, burnt orange and golden rod yello

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I split the roving in half to get more color variations in the roving. When dyeing I used each color twice except for the turquoise.

love the colours and the end result, if you Navaho plied this yarn you would have got a completely different yarn, worth a thought

Thank you!! Yes I agree but that just wasn't the look I was going for with this particular project. I plan on using that plying technique for a future project!
