Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Costume

For: Women

Style: Whimsical

Materials

silk brocade, linen, tapestry, muslin

What was your inspiration?

Pirates of the Carribean and my daughter. This was for thre Wisconsin Renaissance Festival.

What are you most proud of?

How well it fit her. The colors went well together. And the fact I was offered numerous times over the day she wore quite a bit of money for the outfit. This the latest costume I have made for Kristen. I make all of her Renaissance costumes. Each one more involved that the next.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time when making a costume such as this. Don't rush through it. I did a lot of customizing to get it just the way my daughter wanted it. I would not suggest doing that (take pieces from different patterns and fitting them together) unless you know what you are doing. The end results can be quit interesting.

Love the pirate outfit! I also enjoy attending Ren Faires and showing off my homemade costumes. Would be very interested in seeing more pics of renaissance and steampunk costumes you have made.
