Do you leave the paper foundations on when you sew the blocks together and then remove all of the papers when the quilt top is finishedr? I'm in the middle of my first big project and the directions say to keep them on but I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better to remove them and then sew the blocks together. I've seen directions for both ways, but was wanting someone's opinion.

Bonnie, I've done it both ways, and both seem to work just fine. I think the answer to this is what are you most comfortable doing? It is easier to remove the papers before you sew the blocks together. But if you have a lot of bias edges on your blocks, it would help with stability to keep the papers on until the top is sewn together. What is your project? Do you have pictures of your blocks?
