No, these are not X-blocks, they are from a paper piecing pattern in a Craftsy class.

X-Blocks? Very cool! ;o) I bought X-Blocks templates and books - someday I just might try it ;o)

Excellent colour choice - these pinwheels really spin!

Thank you! I was a little bit worried about the green and black, but I think it works.

I am considering taking this class. Even though I am a traditional quilter, there are some things I see that I like so much. Like this quilt. Your quilt. And New York Beauty introduction. And paper piecing techniques...

Thank you! I like the technique a lot, it really enables you to get some incredible design. However, I do cringe a bit at the extra fabric involved that gets wasted, it definitely uses more fabric than traditional quilting.

Her method couldnt possibly waste the fabric I have wasted (in the past) with re-cuts, because my pieces never fit the first time. Then I over compensate the second time---resulting in lots of waste. lol I am strongly leaning towards taking this class. I will review the course one more time at my break. And, I will probably see you around some more. =)

This is beautiful, Tanya. I am waiting until fall to quilt mine and am interested in quilting suggestions, too.

I would love to hear suggestions on how to quilt this one, still thinking about it.

Tanya - I really love how you used your colors and fabrics in your PInwheel Polka quilt! As far as quilting goes, I quilted mine in an over-all swirling pattern. You have that white background on yours, which would really show off a more complicated quilting pattern, if you feel you would like to try something more involved. I have seen a lot of students doing echoing lines out from the pinwheels, too - however you decide to quilt it, it is going to be one stunning quilt!
