Quilting: Pinwheel baby quilt
19 kudoz

Pinwheel baby quilt

Instructions

I made this when I was learning how to work with triangles. Be patient with yourself, and if your points aren't perfect, know that you will get better with practice. :-)

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Cute, Casual

Materials

cotton fabric, polyester batting

What was your inspiration?

I needed to make a quick baby gift and wanted to use fabric I already had on hand.

What are you most proud of?

The pieced triangle border.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Draw it out on graph paper first to help you get the block design/placement you want.

I have TWO walking feet! (one came with my machine and one came with another item I needed, but, was packaged together) I didn't realize that it would make stitch-in-the-ditch easier!! You've inspired me...I just keep sending my quilts out to get them done, but, maybe I can do them myself, after looking at your beautiful work.!?

Thanks for your nice comment. The walking foot will make life so much easier for ditch quilting. The first time I used it I was like, "DUH" why didn't I get this out before?!?! I have tried hand quilting and just don't have the patience, but I really admire people who can do it. Happy Quilting!! :-)

I love the colors. It reminds me of the flower fields in Carlsbad.
