Materials
1 yd light value fabric for background panels, 1/3 yd darker value fabric for lower front and back gusset, 1 yd coordinating print for lining and outer back pocket, scraps for hair, pacifier and hair bow. 18" square for skin tone fabric, 2 3/4 yds (1" wide) woven webbing for handles, 3 pkg piping, 2/3 yd fusible fleece, scraps of fusible transfer web, 1" plastic ring for pacifier, 1 (3/4") shank button, black & red permanent markers (for face decorations), basic sewing supplies and tools...I added a couple of decorative buttons and a snap closure, Also - I added tulle for the "tutu" on the front of the diaper bag. What was your inspiration?
I wanted to make something that was a little unusual - not the norm.
What are you most proud of?
The way people look when they see my projects. The compliments make me feel as if I am doing something right!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Read the whole project first. Then go shopping for the materials and get the right colors for that special Mother-to-be. The changing pad was not part of the diaper bag, I added that myself.
