Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Victorian / Steampunk, Classic, Retro / Vintage, Romantic, Outdoorsy, Mod

Materials

I used Misty Alpaca Baby Suri Alpaca and silk yarns. I love how they came out

What was your inspiration?

I grew up among pine trees and always felt such peace under their branches. I live on the plains now and miss them. I decided to make fingerless gloves with this motif to commemerate this love. I also made a scarf using the same motif and so now I have a matching set.

What are you most proud of?

I love how these gloves fit. I am really proud of the design and how the trunk of the tree looks "bumpy" like the real pine tree does.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

These are not hard to make especially if a person has some experience in lace knitting. These are made with double pointed needles and worked in the round.
