What was your inspiration?
My Mother's Birthday - she is a seamstress. I wanted to create something that she would appreciate rather then just another plain cake.
What are you most proud of?
My Mother absolutely loved it! We had to convince her to cut into it so we could all eat it. She wanted to save it!!! The orange cake tasted fabulous too. The kids loved pulling out the "pins" and eating them!!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make plenty extras of any of the decor - you dont have to use it all but it's good to have on hand if needed. You dont have to have the latest gadgets to create the cake decor - think about what you want to create and find things around your home to make it.
