What was your inspiration?

This a just a little something that I made one day to take into work for a pilot friend's birthday. He was a Auburn alumni and I thought it was pretty fitting and fun for all of us to help him celebrate.

What are you most proud of?

Well I would have to say that it did take a little while to get the shape of the plane just right, carve a little off the right...then a little off the left...then the right...ha ha yeah, it started to get pretty skinny. The most difficult thing was to get the windows and stripes along the sides to match. All in all, I thought it was pretty good for the night before! Of course the cloud cupcakes worked out the best!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are using a large portion of your design to made of 100% fondant - leave plenty of time ( 24 hrs. minimum depending on thickness ) if you're needing it to hold its shape without support. This plan, being the night before...well, I just simply used cardboard supports under the wings. So plan, plan, plan!
