What was your inspiration?
I first designed this pattern in the Americo Originals Organic Cotton for a boutique in Toronto. I was interested to see how the pattern would work in a different yarn, so I adapted it to a cowl. It was just days before Christmas and I was in need of a quick project to knit for my Grandmother. Of course, I had planned on knitting her a cowl for months, but had gotten behind due to exams and finals. I was very pleased that the cowl pattern knit up in a day. Also, there is not too much finishing as the wave edging occurs naturally while you knit. She told me she absolutely loves it and wears it to bed every night. It keeps the cold Canadian chill off her neck. Months later and the organic cotton still retains its luxury pillowy soft feel.
What are you most proud of?
I'm most proud that my Grandmother loves her gift and wears it every night!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be sure to pay attention to rows 8 and 16 as those are the rows that affect the wave edging.
