What was your inspiration?

I wanted to give a gift to a person that I work with and is retiring. I'm taking the block of the month classes and wanted to try something on my own. I guess I need more classes from Amy (Block of the Month class instructor) Attempting this on my own was a real challenge for me, I like watching Amy's video they help alot and you can post questions. Attempting a pattern with no video and no one to ask questions to was alittle hard. I did it and it didn't come out to bad.
