What was your inspiration?

I love that the cocktail rings are now the trend. I love the luster of Swarovski Crystal and I wanted to incorporate their shine with the grace of the vintage style Hollywood glam. I also love that this pattern can be taken in a million different ways. Change up the colors, create a new pattern over the top, change out the band, change the base beads, change the size and shape of the base, it's amazing what you can do with this piece one you've learned the technique!

What are you most proud of?

I love how wearable this piece is! I know how silly that seems. But this piece looks like it would be heavy and bulky to wear, but I've had friends and coworkers try mine on and be amazed at how light and comfortable it is to wear! It's like you're wearing sparkling air!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't try to rush through this project. I have broken this project down into three separate sections: The base of the ring (the lattice), the pillow top, and the band. Each segment is a great stopping point once completed if you need a break, but be sure that when you're going to start that you're committed. This isn't a fast working project at first and it can be a challenge to get it work up correctly, especifially if you aren't comfortable working with needles. But take your time and you'll get through it. I show you every needle movement with color photos so just follow along and take your time. You can always go back if you mess something up.
