Pilar - my dress form

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Plus-Size Pattern Fitting & Design »

Instructions

I put the paper dress form on the Dritz form before taping it up in the back. Next time, I will have my friend pull the paper tape tighter under my bust. I don't have good definition there. But right now I am not making bras or bathing suits. Pilar is my favorite girl's name from a Danielle Steele novel (remember her?)

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Plus-sized

Style: Classic

Materials

Paper craft tape and a Dritz dress form

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Tape tightly, If you use a sponge to run the tape along, make it really wet. Some of my tape wasn't wet enough.

I put mine over a smaller dress form also. Love it

Great job. I too used a small dress form to put my form. Though, mine is not as smooth as yours. I am not complaining ,though since my husband gave up 4 hours of his time to help me.

Great job. I'm looking forward to making my own paper form.

Looks great! I see you were able to use the "pop it over a skinny dress form" idea for a stand. Thanks for sharing the pic!

Hey great idea. I have my dress form all padded up to my measurements then I just pulled over a tight tee shirt. But you have me thinking I could create another by using my form and wrapping it as Barbara shows in our class. Great idea I could have a second form. Thank you so much for your post :-)
