Pieced Centre String Block Coasters

Pattern Info

This project was designed by Kaye Prince.
Info can be found at:

Pieced Centre String Block Coasters »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Other

Style: Whimsical, Classic, Cute

Materials

Cotton fabric, batting, thread

What was your inspiration?

I was inspired by the need to create a smaller project from my original Pieced Centre String Blocks tutorial, so I fooled around with dimensions and cutting instructions to come up with these.

What are you most proud of?

The fact that I still use the one I made for the tutorial everyday (over a year later) and it still looks exactly the same as the original pictures ;)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just like with the original block instructions - be adventurous with fabric selections! Also don't be afraid to try out new and "scary" quilting techniques on these little guys - they're great for that!

Hey Kaye, I wanted to show you my string block coasters that I made for my mum and daughters. I tried sending them to your email address but it didn't work so I have posted them on my Craftsy Projects for you to see. Thank you so much for this fab tutorial, I am now making some for myself! x

two years ago i got a new diningroom table and wanted to keep it nice. we play games alot and a placemat is too big for glasses and cans with the game pieces so i made 4 different coasters from my table runner scraps. i used 4 designs i had learned. they all still look good except the one that ended up in a bleach load. i'm making them for gifts for both of my sisters this year to match the placemats i'm making them

I like this idea. It would be great for the beginner quilter, young and old. I would like to present it to my quilt project group for 4-H if that is okay. Thanks much.
