What was your inspiration?

I came upon this tutorial by Kaye Prince and thought these would be a great gift for my mum for Mother's Day.
This is a wonderful way of using up the 'crumbs' and a lot of fun to do:)

What are you most proud of?

Learning how to do paper piecing. Also seeing the delight of my mum and my two daughters faces when they recieved them as gifts.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Download this wonderful tutorial and get quilting!

Aw Lisa they will be a goregous gift for your mum, I gave mine to mum last year and she loves them. I have made her some cushions for her 85th birthday which I will put up soon to show when I have some pictures of them.

I started them, but I was wondering instead of the paper to do the quilt batting instead, then its already in there and you dont have to add it at the end!!

You could do that Lisa, as I did it for some cushions 'quilt as you go' and the turned out great. The only thing is that you would have to bind each of them, which would give them a different look:)

Hey these are great! Well done, what a neat pressie... oh dear, another idea added to the "wannado" list LOL. Also love your idea of bundling them together with a ribbon tied round... very snazzy.
