Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: My mother-in-law retired from teaching preschool for 25 years. We had a party for her and I made this cake. When I saw Colette's cake in the class videos, I thought it fit our occasion perfectly, so i mostly recreated the cake with a few modifications. The cake is 12, 10, 8 and 6 inch tiers. Each tier had a mix of flavors-chocolate, vanilla and hazelnut in different combinations in each tier. For fillings, I made buttercream, cookies'n'cream, chocolate-hazelnut mousse. Once the cakes were assembled and trimmed, I covered them with chocolate ganache and then marshmallow fondant. When the slices were cut out and covered in ganache, as the cakes were taking over my kitchen-literally!-my husband said we had a ton of pacmans everywhere you looked :) This cake was a fun project!!
