Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Casual, Traditional, Classic, Mod

Materials

I am considering writing this up as a pattern: please give me some feedback! I would like for the scarf to be shorter, narrower, fewer woven parts (4 instead of 5 or 6). The woven part should also be higher up on the body. What would you like to see different? Orient Wonder fingering yarn from www.stitchuary.com . 80% merino, cashmere/nylon. 5.0mm hook.

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to design a scarf that I wouldn't have to "fool with;" that would stay nice-looking all day. I also like using tricks in crochet to make it appear I did the impossible: How in the world did you weave that together?!

What are you most proud of?

Designing the scarf and selecting the yarn.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

There's more than one way to skin a cat!

I agree the scarf should be narrower. Looking at it again, if it were wider, could it be a shawl? I really like the design idea of a scarf that would stay put! Very clever. Patty

Thanks Patty! I love your idea for the shawl! I made this out of fingering weight, which has really nice drape, but took forever to make. I need to take a picture of it worn normally, not spread out, but I wanted to show how it's made. I appreciate you leaving a comment!
