PHOTO QUILT

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:

Instructions

tutorials to make your own photo quilt are on my blog @:http://carolynscanvas.blogspot.com/2011/04/making-photo-quilt.html from preparing your own photo sheets. Further tutorials will be available soon showing how to create the photo blocks. The biggest job is getting all your photos together.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Unisex

Style: Traditional, Classic

Materials

cottons, cotton/polyester blends, fabric photo squares, inkjet printer, bubble jet set, freezer wrap

What was your inspiration?

creating an instant heirloom as these are. there have been up to 8 generations on the quilts and matching accessories of pillow shams, pillows, wallhangings or pillow scarves. going through many years of photos and putting them together is very interesting.

What are you most proud of?

being able to do the complete quilt from preparing the photo blocks to the quilting and binding.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

get the whole family involved if neccessary to get a wide range of photos. start early. this all takes time and planning but it is well worth it.

I use freezer wrap [no bubble wrap]. You can see the whole process at the address I give above in instructions
