What materials did you use? Scrap fabric, Inktense pencils, medium loft fusible fleece, Guttermanns thread.

What are you most proud of? Getting it finished in time for the birthday. I like the veins on the leaves which are above the water. .

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Double check with the original as you you quilt and colour - I made a glaring mistake on one of the petals, but had no time to fix it, I haven't treated it with fabric medium as I wasn't happy with the effect on my previous picture (Girl with a Pearl Earring) so I'm not sure how durable it is. I'll experiment with other treatments till I get one I'm happy with then finish it.

Hello again. Yet another lovely piece . . . however I read that you've not added any wet medium to set the color, correct! So you used the pencils to color the cloth and that's it?

Hi Eklectika Ann! I think I later found out that if you dampen Inktense pencils it makes them permanent, according to their blurb. On another piece I just coloured it dry mostly, but did dampen some bits for a more intense colour. Then I sprayed it just damp with water and lightly ironed it. Neither piece has been washed. I really should do what I said and experiment. And thanks for reminding me that I should be posting things on here. Must get the camera out. :)
