Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Shoot It! A Product Photography Primer »

Instructions

Use perspective and the rule of thirds to draw in the viewer. I wanted to show the focus and drive of the cattle dog breed and the unflappable intrepid curiosity of the cat.

Materials

Camera and my beasties

What was your inspiration?

The instructor, Cara, really got my interest with her introduction and once given the homework assignment I grabbed the camera and began engaging my 'models' with squeaky toys and feathers!

What are you most proud of?

The beasties were very tolerant of the camera in their faces and I feel as if I got some interesting angles to showcase both animals.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take TONS of photos, get on their level, keep them interested and engaged.

Lovely storytelling picture of Anjea 2, and it is all so beautifully focused too.

I like the kitty in the photo where she's off to one side. It's like she's peeking into the photo. Super cute!

Wowzer! These photos are great- I love them all. The action in the ball photo and the slinking up the stairs one are my personal favorites.... the closeups are great too though- it's hard to have a favorite LOL :-)

The photo of the ball is awesome! What great action - really tells a story. I also love the stair railings in the background of the other dog picture.
