Peppermint Candy Surprise!

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Amigurumi: Design Your Own Monster »

Instructions

Color changes are on the front side only, because I ran out of red yarn!

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Toy

For: Children

Style: Cute

Materials

Worsted weight yarn, fiberfill stuffing, plastic safety eyes

What was your inspiration?

This project was inspired by a drawing by my 5 year old daughter, which before I could photograph, my 22 month old son decided to embellish with his own flair! I can't wait until he's old enough for me to make him something from one of his drawings!

What are you most proud of?

The color changes were the most difficult part as I had to determine how I would move the red yarn behind the white to keep it from showing through, I decided to go with 6 separate strands of red yarn and work each strip vertically in its own piece to keep the red contained to those areas.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure you have enough of the red!

Very Creative! I'd be surprised if my peppermint candies had arms, legs and eyes too. :)
