What was your inspiration?
One of my customers saw a picture of a lovely little cake with 2 large pale pink peonies on top. She requested it for her birthday. I never made peonies before, so I took this class. It was EXTREMELY helpful! It took me a very long time to make these, I used the small version of the peony since it was a small cake and there were 2 flowers on it. The original cake was made by Blissfully Sweet located in Sydney, Australia.
What are you most proud of?
I think the peonies look pretty good for a first try.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Hang in there! It takes a bit of time to make a peony, so just block off a few hours and go for it. It's relatively easy to make, if you follow Nicholas Lodge's steps, you can't mess it up.
