What was your inspiration?

The Bride explained how she and her Groom exchanged little penguin knick-knacks throughout their courtship and engagement. The penguin became a symbol of their love for each other. She asked if I would sculpt a penguin bride and groom for their wedding cake topper. The groom is taller than the bride, so she couldn't find any pre-made ceramic or plastic cake toppers that matched their differences in height. This is what I came up with for her. The sugar paste hardens and can be kept just as a keepsake.

What are you most proud of?

Adorable! I was worried they may come out to whimsical, not classy enough. But I was happy with the results as they are cute but not childish.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Let the main body (black shapes) harden for several days before adding the final elements.
