What materials did you use? Cotton pique for the fashion fabric, cotton batiste for the underlining, and polyester satin for the lining

What are you most proud of? The seams lay so well, and it hangs beautifully.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you choose white fabric, don't underline or line with white fabric. I did, and the seam allowances were so obvious. That's why I lined it with a satin polyester - not because I wanted to, but because it toned down the seam allowances. It now fits tighter than it should, but not so much that I don't wear it!

Nice job! It fits great.

Thank you so much!

Nice fit. Is this your first clothing article or have you sewn before?

Thank you so much. I've sewn before. I've been at it on and off for 20 years. I've really in love with it right now.

Very pretty. What pattern did you use?

Thank you! It's Burda 118.04.2012. I don't know why I rated this four out five circles for difficulty - the pattern itself is quite simple. I guess I was thinking of the hand sewing and fitting techniques that were new.

The fit is lovely. Thank you for sharing your tip regarding the lining and seams. I found it helpful and interesting. Really like your skirt!

Thank you! I think that using a princess seam construction really make it so much easier for fitting curves. If you can call it princess seams on a skirt - I'm not sure. :)

I have been so obsessed with Burda, that I knew the exact pattern you were using! That's great you were successful with this skirt. Great job.

They have great patterns - I agree! I just wish they had better instruction on some of the more unusual construction techniques. I'm almost finished with a blouse that took me days because I could not figure out how they wanted me to fold the button band! LOL! Thank you!
