9 fat quarters; 2 half yards (one for binding fabric, one for feature print); 60 x 60 batting; 2 yards of home dec fabric (backing)
What was your inspiration?
This is a wedding gift for friends who recently got married. They enjoy climbing, biking, and are generally adventurous people. This is meant to truck along on picnics in the City with them and I think reflects their personalities pretty well.
What are you most proud of?
This is the first time I thought a quilt up and did it with no pattern to follow. I just sort of went with what was in my head and made changes as I needed to. My husband was also super involved in the whole process (they are his close friends) so that was a plus, too :)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Experiment with what you like and you'll eventually hit on something uniquely your own.
