Pebbles in the Fountain Girl's Tank

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Pebbles in the Fountain Summer Tank »

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Children

Style: Cute, Whimsical

Materials

dk weight cotton yarn, but bamboo works great too.

What was your inspiration?

The top half of this tank looks like tiny pebbles or sand and the bottom lace portion flows like a fountain, hence the name "pebbles in the fountain." Inspired by my sweet daughter, I wanted to make an airy summer top out of a light cotton yarn, so this pattern was born.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you are a tight knitter, you may want to continue in the larger needles when the pattern calls for a switch back to the smaller ones for the bottom garter stitch border and bind off. This will allow for the top to maintain the "bell" shape that could be lost of you bind off too tightly. The top pictured was done per the pattern though.
