Materials
Cake made from scratch,cake pans,butter cream and fondant,silicone pearl mold,silver luster dust,brushes for painting pearls,fondant colors,fondant,food glue,cake boards,dowels,and base for cake.
What was your inspiration?
The bride-to-be gave me the ideas for color and we discussed what she was most interested in. I then take the ideas and add my own flare to the design so that it represents the uniqueness of that couple and their event.
What are you most proud of?
This is very labor intensive work and requires a great amount of patience. I am proud to see all my hard work come to fruition in a delightful pattern like this one for this cake. I love participating in the ceremony or celebration that brings such joy to people on their special day.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Make sure that you have enough experience in cake baking and decorating before attempting something this extensive. It can be frustrating when not knowing the techniques involved,and especially the execution of cake stacking and the application of fondant. Take a class or two!
