Peacock Ore, Florite & Garnet chip, Jade & Amethyst Bead, silver beads, silver lobster clasp, galvanized wire.
What was your inspiration?
My inspiration was a banded Florite stone!
I built the necklace around the Florite stone, then realized it was out of scale with the necklace, so I switched to the Peacock Ore stone.
What are you most proud of?
Being flexible enough to let the stones tell me what they wanted to do. This necklace would not ever look complete if I had gone ahead with the original florite stone as the focal.
Using what I had on hand. I had galvanized wire, so I used galvanized wire for the wire wrap. Very difficult to work with.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Enjoy the creative process... don't force the beads into something they don't want to be.
