What was your inspiration?

This beautiful New Zealand Paua Abalone pendant was my inspiration. The spiral design (Koru) comes from the Maori tribe of New Zealand, and is drawn from the shape of an unfurling fern frond, symbolizing new life, growth, strength, as well as the unity of the family. Having visited New Zealand several years ago, and found it one of my favorite places in the world, I am especially attached to this necklace and have resisted all attempts from strangers and friends alike to convince me to either sell it or give it away!

What are you most proud of?

The beauty and symbolism of the pendant.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just find a beautiful pendant and let it inspire you.
