My daughter asked me to make some cushions and pillows for her patio furniture. I said if she would press and fill them I would make them. I just measured the lenghth and width needed. I sewed up 3.5 sides and had her press the seams, turn and fill them. I then closed the open part and there she had her pillows. It really doesn't take that long. I made 2 cushions and 5 pillows in about 5 hours. That was making very good time.
What was your inspiration?
I am always making curtains, pillows or clothes for my daughter. I have sewn since I was 4 yrs. old so I don't need too much inspiration to make simple things like this. But, now I am making quilts and purses so it takes some decision as to what color fabrics and designs to use.
What are you most proud of?
That my mother taught me how to sew, crochet, knit (I don't knit any longer) cook and bake. That gave me the confidence and drive to at least try anything crafty or in the kitchen, then if I couldn't do it or didn't ike doing it I could at least say that I tried.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
All you need to be able to do is use a tape measure and sew a straight line on a sewing machine then you can do this project. The same rules would apply if you wanted to make straight rod pocket curtins as well. Good Luck. Let me know if you have any questions.
